The Brief:

The task at hand was to design a café that exuded a minimalistic vibe, while also creating a welcoming environment to relax and work. The challenge was embraced, by creating a space that marries simplicity with sophistication, a sanctuary where visitors could escape the frenetic pace of city life and find solace in a calm environment.

The design is characterized by simplicity, refined aesthetics, and a perfect balance of functionality and comfort.

Design:

The brief was brought to life with a striking vision that creates an amalgamation between chic minimalism and subtle warmth. Upon entering the cafe, visitors are immediately captivated by a stunning double-height staircase that enhances the feeling of openness.

The staircase not only connects the two levels of the cafe but also serves as an alluring focal point that beckons the users to explore the upper floor.

The well-thought-out layout between the brew bar and the seating, allows for a seamless flow
of movement throughout the cafe.

The Ground floor, functions mainly as the dine-in area with bustling activity. Open and semi-open spaces with the use of glass and sleek partitions blur the lines between the exterior and the interior.

The upper floor is more focused towards creating exclusive pockets that provide a perfect setting for individuals seeking a quiet corner to work or unwind.

The interior of the cafe is adorned with clean lines and inviting textures in various tones of the colour palette, evoking a sense of calm and serenity. Soft hues of beige, warm white, and muted earthy tones brought in through the furniture harmonize effortlessly.

This creates a canvas that complements the experience of being in the space without overwhelming the senses. The clever use of large floor-to-ceiling windows invite an abundance of natural light, augmented by tastefully placed warm artificial lighting, that adds to the welcoming atmosphere by complementing the whites and the neutral colours of the space.

The furniture made in collaboration with “The Nadi Collective” is a blend of contemporary pieces with sleek, understated designs, further contributing to the café chic and minimalist aura ensuring maximum functionality without compromising the aesthetics. Subtle touches of greenery spread throughout the café with the use of built-in planters and potted plants bring a touch of nature indoors.
